Während eines diabolischen Brettspieles wird der Grim, ein schreckliches Monster mit dem Aussehen eines degenerierten Bergtrolls, herbei gerufen. Jener beginnt so dann mit dem entführen von Dorfbewohnern und holden Jungfrau, oder dem, was er dafür hält. Eine Gruppe Forscher macht sich auf, das Höhlensystem, in welchem der Grim lebt, zu erkunden. Dabei sehen sie sich mit dem Grim konfrontiert, welchem die Eindringlinge eine willkommene Abwechslung zum tristen Leben unter der Erde bieten.
