Ein Rock 'n' Roll-Konzert als Zirkusspektakel. Das legendäre Konzert "The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus" vom 11. Dezember 1968 bringt mit The Who, John Lennon, Eric Clapton und Jethro Tull großartige Musiker zu einem Riesen-Musik-Spektakel gemeinsam auf die Bühne. Für die Rolling Stones war es zudem der letzte gemeinsame Auftritt in ihrer Urbesetzung mit Gitarrist Brian Jones.
"The Rolling Stones Rock and Roll Circus“ ist das legendäre und grandiose Rockspektakel, bei dem die "größte Rock-and-Roll-Band der Welt“ zum letzten Mal in der Urbesetzung auftrat, also mit Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Brian Jones, Bill Wyman und Charlie Watts. Unter dem Zirkuszelt werden die in grellbunte Zirkuskostüme geschlüpften Rolling Stones von einer einmaligen All-Star-Besetzung unterstützt: Neben Jethro Tull und The Who sind Marianne Faithfull, Taj Mahal, Yoko Ono und die nur für diesen Auftritt bestehende, spontan gegründete Supergruppe The Dirty Mac mit von der Partie, in der John Lennon, Keith Richards, Eric Clapton und Mitch Mitchell von der Jimi Hendrix Experience mitspielen.

Mick Jagger als Zirkusdirektor zelebriert eine nicht vorausgeplante, kompromisslose Chaosveranstaltung, die zahlreiche unvergessliche Musikdarbietungen hervorgebracht hat. Zu den Songs gehören: Jethro Tull mit "Song for Jeffrey", The Who mit "A Quick One While He’s Away“, The Dirty Mac mit "Yer Blues" und die Rolling Stones mit "Jumpin’ Jack Flash", "Parachute Woman", "No Expectations", "You Can’t Always Get What You Want" und "Sympathy for the Devil".
