In der Zukunft, genauer: 1983, stürzt das Passagier-Raumschiff "Spindrift" versehentlich auf einen Planeten, der der Erde ähnelt, leider aber der "Planet der Giganten" ist: Seine Bewohner sind zwölfmal so groß wie die Menschen. Das macht auch Kinder und sogar Insekten zu gefährlichen Riesengegnern.
