Zu den schönsten Verschwörungstheorien und den größten Rätseln, mindestens aber zu den schönsten Zufällen der Filmgeschichte, gehört die Tatsache, dass Pink Floyd’s episch ausladendes Stück Echoes vom Album “Meddle” sich als verblüffend synchron zum letzten Abschnitt “Wiedergeburt” von Stanley Kubricks Meisterwerk “2001 Odyssee im Weltraum” erweist.
Schaltet man zu Beginn des letzten Themas “Wiedergeburt” den Ton des Films stumm und lässt stattdessen den Song “Echoes” laufen (so dass beim ersten “Ping” der Schriftzug “Jupiter” erscheint), ergeben sich interessante Analogien. Beispielsweise passt sich die Musik geradezu den verschiedenen psychedelischen Bildern an.
Jedoch eine andere Theorie behauptet, Pink Floyd hätten sich lediglich durch 2001 Odyssee im Weltraum inspirieren lassen und hätten Echos passend zu dem Abschnitt “Jupiter and Beyond the Infinite” komponiert. Pink Floyd bestreitet bis heute, dass die auffallende Synchronität in irgendeiner Form beabsichtigt gewesen sei.
In der vorliegenden Doppel DVD wird 2001 Odyssee im Weltraum mit den Titeln von Pink Floyd aus den Jahren 1969 und 1971, also aus den Alben Meddle, Ummagumma und Atom Heart Mother, synchronisiert, die kurz nach “2001 Odyssee im Weltraum” im Jahr 1969 erschienen sind.
Fazit: Diese DVD ist ein ein ultimativer Trip aus tief beindruckenden Bildern und Musik und muß man unbedingt gesehen haben.
