These two memorable concerts were once recorded for television; they document Maria Callas' celebrated return to the important English stage at the height of her career. The programs for these two evenings feature the diva assoluta in very different roles: on the one hand as the tragic Elisabeth de Valois in Verdi's Don Carlo, on the other as the seductive Carmen and the desperate Tosca.
