Wenn die meisten Leute an Alaska denken, kommen ihnen kurze Tage und kalte Nächte in den Sinn. Trotz des rauen Winters und Klimas ist Aurora Shores jedoch auch ein Ort der Wärme.
Unabhängig von der Jahreszeit ist die idyllische Schönheit der natürlichen Lebensräume von Aurora Shores erstaunlich und ein Quell der Inspiration. Von den höchsten Gipfeln des Nianuk Rise bis zum mächtigen Aivuk-Regenwald hat Alaska für jeden etwas zu bieten.
Die erstaunliche Diversität von Aurora Shores zeigt sich besonders hier im Hochlandgebiet. Jäger bekommen es hier nicht nur mit rauen Wetterbedingungen, sondern mit einer Vielzahl an seltenen Beutetieren zu tun – etwa dem Roosevelt-Wapiti und dem Waldbison, auf die es nicht nur erfahrene Jäger sondern auch gefährliche Raubtiere gleichermaßen abgesehen haben.
Diese Gebirgszüge gehören zu den höchsten der Welt, vergleichbar mit dem Himalaya oder den Anden. Inmitten dieser wunderschönen, aber gefährlichen Gipfel finden Bergziegen und Barren-Ground-Karibus Zuflucht.
Diese Regenwaldinsel ist ein wunderschöner Anblick. Hier treiben sich Sitkahirsche herum und, als wäre das noch nicht genug, es ist durchaus möglich, bei Streifzügen im Wald ein Stelldichein mit einem Kodiakbären zu erleben. Sei also auf der Hut, Jäger.
