Am Ostermontag 1992 wurde im Londoner Wembley Stadion Musikgeschichte geschrieben: Zahlreiche internationale Musiker, u. a. George Michael, David Bowie, Annie Lennox und Metallica, fanden sich zum legendären "Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert" zusammen. Die virtuosen und emotionalen Performances und das begeisterte Publikum machen diesen Konzertfilm zu einem einmaligen Erlebnis.
Ein Gänsehaut-Moment folgte dem nächsten, das Who is Who der internationalen Weltstars versammelte sich mit den Musikern von Queen, um ihren Sänger zu ehren, der einige Monate zuvor an AIDS verstorben war. Das Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, das in nicht weniger als 76 Ländern live übertragen wurde, wird wegen unvergesslicher Interpretationen von "Under Pressure", "Somebody to Love" oder "Bohemian Rhapsody" in Erinnerung bleiben.
Ein in zwei Teile aufgeteiltes Konzert, bei dem im ersten Teil Bands ihre eigenen Stücke vortragen: Metallica, Bob Geldof, Guns N' Roses, Def Leppard, gefolgt von der Schauspielerin Elizabeth Taylor, die einen leidenschaftlichen Appell für den Kampf gegen AIDS abgibt. Im zweiten (auf ARTE ausgestrahlten) Teil greifen die Künstler und Künstlerinnen David Bowie, Annie Lennox, Roger Daltrey, Elton John, George Michael, Liza Minnelli und Robert Plant die schönsten Stücke von Queen auf und interpretieren sie auf ihre eigene Art und Weise.

El lunes de Pascua de 1992 se escribió la historia de la música en el estadio de Wembley de Londres: numerosos músicos internacionales, entre ellos... George Michael, David Bowie, Annie Lennox y Metallica se reunieron para el legendario "Concierto Tributo a Freddie Mercury". Las actuaciones virtuosas y emotivas y el público entusiasta hacen de esta película de concierto una experiencia única.
Se sucedía un momento de piel de gallina: el quién es quién de las estrellas internacionales se reunió con los músicos de Queen para honrar a su cantante, que había muerto de SIDA unos meses antes. El Concierto Tributo a Freddie Mercury, que fue retransmitido en directo en nada menos que 76 países, será recordado por las inolvidables interpretaciones de "Under Pressure", "Somebody to Love" o "Bohemian Rhapsody".
Un concierto dividido en dos partes, en la que en la primera las bandas interpretan sus propias piezas: Metallica, Bob Geldof, Guns N' Roses, Def Leppard, seguidas por la actriz Elizabeth Taylor, que hace un apasionado llamamiento por la lucha contra el SIDA. En la segunda parte (transmitida por ARTE), los artistas David Bowie, Annie Lennox, Roger Daltrey, Elton John, George Michael, Liza Minnelli y Robert Plant retoman las piezas más bellas de Queen y las interpretan a su manera.

The virtuosic and emotional performances and the enthusiastic audience make this concert film a unique experience.
One goosebumps moment followed the next, the who's who of international stars gathered with the musicians from Queen to honor their singer, who had died of AIDS a few months earlier. The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert, which was broadcast live in no less than 76 countries, will be remembered for unforgettable interpretations of "Under Pressure", "Somebody to Love" or "Bohemian Rhapsody".
A concert divided into two parts, in which in the first part bands perform their own pieces: Metallica, Bob Geldof, Guns N' Roses, Def Leppard, followed by the actress Elizabeth Taylor, who makes a passionate appeal for the fight against AIDS. In the second part (broadcast on ARTE), the artists David Bowie, Annie Lennox, Roger Daltrey, Elton John, George Michael, Liza Minnelli and Robert Plant take up Queen's most beautiful pieces and interpret them in their own way.
